DTPR LGST 559: Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting and PBDLD Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Legislative Drafting

Description

LGST 559: Drafting Project, is normally the final course that students take in their program, and is designed to facilitate extended research work and original legislative drafting under the direction of a course professor and an expert drafter from the student’s jurisdiction. The scope of the project, however, must fall within the research area of faculty members associated with the GDLD and PBDLD.

The Drafting Project allows students to explore an intellectual question, to relate their research to a work situation, or to engage a community problem. Theoretical and empirical approaches should draw from the student's course work and demonstrate an integrative approach to knowledge creation. The project will involve library research and other necessary research, and will result in the production of an effective legislative plan and a new piece of legislation.
